Rotary Steam Tube
Dryers
The
Simon Rotary Steam Tube Dryer offers distinct advantages over
both simple Rotary Cascade Dryers and Simon Tubular Dryers.
For applications where a Simon Tubular Dryer would be the
first choice, but where a large heating area is required, the
Rotary Steam Tube Dryer is the obvious alternative.
Comprising of a steam tube bundle which
rotates with the dryer shell, heating areas in excess of 1000
square metres are easily obtainable.
In general, the Rotary Steam Tube Dryer
operates at a lower temperature than other types of dryers. It
also rotates at a slower speed than other rotary dryers, which
allows material to tumble gently through the heating tubes.
In addition, since the drying medium is steam
within the tubes as opposed to the hot gas flow required with
other rotary dryers, a lower air velocity through the dryer is
required which reduces the amount of product carried through
the dryer in the exhaust gas stream.
